The
2011 Container Shipment:
In 2010, Running For Hope began collecting
wheel chairs, crutches, walkers and other devices to assist
disabled people in Lebanon. Through partnership with
a local church, we are providing relief in a region
where various political/religious factions make
suitable devices difficult to obtain. August 12, 2011, the
shipping container was closed and sent to the docks for a journey that
would take several weeks and overcome challenges with logistics and
delays.
One shipping container may not seem like much, but it was 40
feet long and jam-packed with practical
devices--including several wheel chairs and walkers that were
provided by
Joni and
Friends. This is the
initial supply of devices for a clinic where ongoing care will be
provided.
Running For Hope identified care-giving
expertise in the region and funded the
shipment out of the proceeds from of our
Run/Walk event
and benevolent donors.
With a local
church on the receiving
end, we have initiated a partnership for ongoing relationships with the
recipients of these ambulatory aids.
Along
with the crutches, walkers, wheelchairs and such, clinic desks and exam
tables were provided so that medical personnel will be able to care for
patients with suitable furniture.
Thank you for
taking part in this!
That's one full
container... all ready to go to the Middle East!

Running for Hope and pastor Eli Hasbani
Greetings!
We thank you for the big effort and big work you
did in sending the
container for the needy and disable people in Lebanon, who thank you in
advance for helping them to survive and live an honored life.
We ask God to bless each brother, institution,
hospital, clinic and
church that donated the items… for special blessings and riches from
above, from our Lord. Thank you so much. We will do our best to help,
to reach out with these tools, and with the word of God from a loving
heart, to all the people.
Enjoy this picture taken while receiving the
shipping container.
May God bless you richly,
Pastor Najib Khoury, and your brothers in Lebanon
