The Story of Boutros Wanna:

In 1977, Lebanon was being torn apart by a war taking place in several sectors of the country as Palestinians and various political/religious factions engaged in violent battles.

One particular evening, however, Boutros Wanna’s life was about to be impacted by the chaos surrounding him. His leg was dangling and bleeding profusely after having been shot.  The situation was so dangerous that no one would dare to take him to the border where perhaps he could hope to be escorted to hospital.

No… that night the best he could hope for was an amateur who while attempting to help Boutros tied a cord tightly around his leg above the bleeding in an effort to save his life.  A day later after a night of horrific pain he was moved and a ride was arranged to take him to a hospital.  Once in the hands of medical professionals it was apparent that gangrene had set in.  The cord had not allowed sufficient blood to the wound site.  Now it was obvious that in order to save Boutros’ life the leg would of necessity require amputation.

More than 30 years have passed since that 1977 nightmare.  Boutros has learned much over the course of three decades on the proper care of his leg.  He recalls the miserable years when he had to deal with poorly made and technologically primitive prostheses.  Today Boutros knows that he can lead a more productive life if he has access to more medically advanced prostheses.

Boutros and Vivienne have three children: Patty, Sally, and Peter.  Their family exemplifies perseverance and trust in the God who created the heavens and the earth.  All of the children have worked hard to achieve their very best in school.  Now we want to tell their story.  We realize that unless this story is communicated Boutros probably cannot anticipate any sort of aid.  Boutros needs the latest available prostheses so that he will be enabled to achieve even more during these critical days of life in southern Lebanon... a rather volatile yet strategic location of the world he’s chosen to live in with his family.  Please pray for Boutros and Vivienne. Would you also consider helping them to acquire the latest available medical discoveries.

Thank you for taking part in this!
